Multi-channel audio syncing to BPM problem
Hi!
I'm very new to Max/MSP and have had to design something for my Uni course. The aim of the project was to be able to have an input of some kind and enable the user to do live, real-time sound processing.
I'm creating a 'loopstation' (a common topic I believe on these forums) and have gotten to the point in which I have 2 channels devoted to input i.e. From a Mic and 4 channels for samples.
What I want to know is how I can play 1 channel say, drums, and then at any point press play on a bassline and have it come in on time?? I presume I'll need a counter of some sort which can be triggered by any one of the play buttons?
Be very grateful for some help,
Thanks
P.s. Attached is my Screenshot of the project as it stands. I am aware that i have multiple DAC's and am going to re-route it all to one eventually once the problem above has been solved
Hi, You have several choices, depending on length of the samples used.
Let's say if You have all the samples of the same length, like multitrack song,
You could just let them all run and mute/ unmute tracks.
If You have a Drum Loop, and other tracks are multiple lengths of it,
then You need some kind of sync.
That could be as simple as Loop turnover Bang from Groove to trigger playback start on other
track, or some kind of global transport locked sync.
And I can't see any attatchments, that happens to me also all the time,
posting compressed max patches allways works, screenshots and other files
don't get accepted.
I can't figure out why.
