multi-sample buffer example?
Hi guys,
Let me say hello and introduce myself. I've been a long time Reaktor user and after playing with the Max/MSP 5 demo last night I purchased as soon as the store page was updated to include it.
I'll try to keep my newbie questions to a minimum but right out of the gate I was wondering if it exists, someone could point me to an example of multi-sample playback -- essentially I'm interested in reproducing a recent project of mine (ammobox) in Max/MSP.
Basically I'd like to trigger arbitrary samples and have playback speed modifable by digital vinyl -- I realize that Ms. Pinky has the digital vinyl part of this sewn up but so far I am unable to find the multi-sampling part -- I'm still a bit hazy on the nomenclature of Max so I apologize for my ignorance if it's clearly documented somewhere or worse yet part of the stock Max/MSP factory examples!
Thanks in advance if someone can field this!
Hi Nathan! Good to see you here, and welcome to Max.
You should explore the buffer~, play~ and record~ objects, as well as
the related objects to those you will find in their respective help
patchers. The help patchers themselves should get you going in the
right direction.
Knowing what I know about ammobox, what seems like it will lend
itself the best for your needs is to use multiple buffers, rather
than any kind of "multi-sample" object (which I don't think really
exists).
Good luck!
Dan

After you look at the built ins -- buffer~, groove~, play~ -- have a look at multibuf~ and groovewrap~ in the CNMAT MMJ Depot.
