Multiple files in search path
Hello,
I had to reinstall Max5 recently along with its folder so I am not sure how this can be my mistake. I keep receiving warnings in my Max window that say:
Warning: you have multiple files in your search path with the name xxxxxxx.maxref.xml
using this file: Macintosh HD:/Applications/Max5/Cycling '74/docs/refpages/max-ref/xxxxxxx.maxref.xml
...so from what I have checked basically all my Max objects exist in double, one in
Max5/patches/docs/refpages/max-ref
...the other in
Max5/Cycling '74/docs/refpages/max-ref
So my question is: which one should I get rid of (and how come Max installed itself like this- I don't remember ever having such a problem before)
thank you,
carloskleiber
Get rid of the one in the Cycling '74 folder. That was the very first location of the docs before we discovered a WebKit bug with relative paths containing spaces. The patches location is correct. Sounds like you installed a very new Max 5 over a very old Max 5...
Best, Jeremy
Thank you I will. I am a M4L user and always had the impression I was keeping up with updates. I had to reinstall because [in] ceased working.
