Multiple video mixing

hi chaps,

just wondering whether anyone has every done mixing (crossfading) between
multiple video sources? im trying to crossfade between more than one video
source which is randomly selected - and am stuggling to figure out the best
way to do this. i guess all the video inputs need to go into one object then
out to a cross fade to mix between them?

cheers,
dave

Hey, for once theres a simple enough object to do this. you jsut need to use jit.xfade
(https://cycling74.com/documentation/jit.xfade) has a bit more about it. if you wanted to fade between more than 2 sources, could use multiple xfade objects and kinda pyramid them out. EIther that or you could use a router and randomly send them to the correct output
Hope this helps

I too am trying to build a multiple video mixing patch in Jitter. I am a bit new at this, would you mind offering a specific example or screencap on how to call a quicktime randomly from a list of preloaded quicktime movies? ive uploaded a screencap of the patch I am working on.

thank you,

k

couple of things.

for the original poster, make sure you post in the correct forum. you want to ask this to the jitter list.

do the tutorials. the very first jitter tutorials cover this kind of stuff. they are very easy and quick and informative.

search the forum. i'm almost positive "randomly selecting clips" will yield several solutions.

here is a quick way to randomly select a video clip from a folder of video clips.

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.
