Multispeaker room-EQ correction
Hi,
Currently I'm working on a project with a multiple speaker set up in the horizontal and vertical plane. Now I want to get an as flat as possible frequency response equally spread over the speakers and room. I'm aware that it is impossible to get a perfect pink noise from every speaker at every spot in the room. But is there a way to get an approximate result? I'm not looking for the expensive intelligent room-EQ, but it should be possible to get it automated some way since it won't be static but will vary per room. Any experience?
Thanks,
poul
Here is what we call a non-trivial problem.
I think your best bet is a semi-manual solution. Some ideas:
- Movable microphone for calibration
- Monitor patch with spectroscope~
connected to the calibration mic
- Simple way of sending noise/impulses etc through every loudspeaker
You would like to run the monitoring and the test sound controller on the same computer. If you run a multiple-computer setup, maybe the audio sources for each spekaer should be OSC-controllable.
