MusicSpace for Max !
Dear computer-music colleagues,
We are happy to announce the availability of MusicSpace as a Max/Msp java object.MusicSpace brings the power of constraint propagation algorithms to the real-time control of musical parameters.
This new version substantially improves the original one (no longer distributed), by being totally open (any Max parameter can be controlled), and by bringing an improved constraint propagation algorithm.
MusicSpace can be used to control any spatializatino parameter (like in the original version, see the video which shows MusicSpace controlling Ircam's spat), but also also music mixing (see the Beatles remix), as well as effects control or even real time control of synthesis parameters.
MusicSpace is available for free as a Max Java (mxj) object, as well as several example patches and demonstration videos from:
The videos should give you quickly an idea of the potential of
constraint propagation for parameter control.Dont hesitate to use this versatile Max object, and we would be very happy to hear about any project, idea or improvement you could have
about MusicSpace.
Sincerely,
The MusicSpace team (Francois Pachet, Pierre Roy, Olivier Delerue)
Thanks, looks really cool. The icon of the listener cracks me up
Just looked thru the videos - that is _very cool. I especially like the new paradigm for mixing - going to have to dig up some multitrack files and give it a go.
thanks guys!
David
Hey guys! Been a while since this post. The link is disappeared! Is there still Max objects available? I'm assuming this ties to the Miror project to some degree.
I'm excited to put together pieces of this w/ http://omax.ircam.fr/ If anyone knows of other tools similar for use in real time style analysis, regeneration, and the like please let me know!
Best,
Neal
