My last update to the 'SynthCore' gen~ DSP library

Hi folks, as you may know, I had another stroke and am now totally deaf, so I won't be doing any more development. Overall I know my original gen~ DSP library was downloaded several thousand times. Since I added two extension libraries, I'm led to believe the second one has been downloaded twice, and the first one, not at all.

Also as far as I know, no C74 user has ever downloaded any of my actual patches, but the library does represent about a year of work to get the functions bug-free and correct in gen~. I had neglected to put a list of the function signatures in comments at the top of the two extension libraries, which may explain why no one said anything much, it having been necessary to scroll down in the code listing to see what they are, which is far too much work for anyone in 2023, when we can't even impeach a President for starting an insurrection, let alone stop a war.

So I put comments at the top of the two extensions listing the functions in them, with brief descriptions. It's still not necessary to download anything. About one person a day visits the page and copies code from it, but I think most of them aren't C74 users.

So that's how it is. Unless anyone wants to collaborate on anything, which no one has for over 10 years now, I am regarding this chapter in my life as otherwise over.

Wishing you good grades in your college courses :) The library is at:

Hmm, I must therefore be one of the fairly few people who actually paid for your SynthCore library back in its early days. It eventually became free, but I have never regretted paying the little I did at the time for such a wonderful collection of gen~ DSP tools. Thank you for your efforts.

I am very sorry to hear about your stroke and loss of hearing, and I wish you all the best in your retirement from all (or at least some) of the meshugas.

Edit: For what it’s worth, I long ago downloaded both your filter5d and synthcore_eq libraries as well. So at least one user has been enjoying both of them.

It's true IUU sold a copy a month for $10 over several years, which paid for my ISP and DNS registration. Then Hostmonster screwed up the payments and deleted my site before I found out, so I switched to Siteground and in the process of updating to HTML5 replaced Joomla with my own PHP code, which is less than a thousand lines, does everything Joomla did for me, and much easier to use. So I put it on github, but its too late. With the millions of public-domain apps now out there it's impossible to make anything that stands out. The only way is to spend a fortune on advertising. The days of technology as its own virtue are now long gone. It was all very exciting for a while, and I was glad to be part of it, but the new era of stupidity and disinformation has really taken over. I'm looking forward to learning impasto instead.
