need a confirmation about the use of tabbed patchers in normal patchers

About one year ago, during a correspondence with Andrew from Cycling about an issue, he wrote to me:

"The use of tabbed patchers like the ones in the Max 6 helpfile system is not yet supported. We'd need to rule that out, I'm afraid."

Is it now safe to use this function in normal patchers?

Thank you.

I've been using it for ages. I know of one minor glitch: when you double-click a send and go to its sibling, Max pops up the main patch window but doesn't switch to the right tab.

hi dtr,

thank you

now what would be fantastic would be a way to switch tabs programmatically, for example with a tab-version of the 'front' message to thispatcher (which unfortunately just opens the 'untabbed' version of the subpatcher)...
did anybody find a way to do this?

best,

jan

There's currently no way of doing this.

Thanks for the response.

I've found an artifactual way of doing it if there is only 2 tabs; might be of help to someone:

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

edit:
you need two separate patchers for it to work--
1: the control patch

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

2: the tabbed patch
