I am looking for an envelope/automation selector exactly like the one found in the Clip View->Envelopes. You know, the one that lets you pick a device in one drop down, and the parameter in another. Also has the markers that say which has automation, and defaults to the last touched parameter. I need all those features.

Does anyone know of a selector like that in an example or M4L device that I can pick apart?

I think it depends on what you want to do. Why replace the function thats already there ?

I use the function object in max to replicate the clip functions in live. Maybe its worth taking a look at that.

I just need an envelope/automation selection gui for my device. I am not trying to change anything in standard functionality. It's just that what I need already exists perfectly in the Clip view, so was hoping there might be an M4L version that I could just use.

You can't built an envelope selector gui since M4L doesn't provide access to the selector in Live.

Sorry I'm maybe not being clear enough. Not sure if I'm using the right word here. Is parameter correct? A value that can have automation on it... I'm calling it a parameter.

I want something that does basically the same thing as the MAP button does in so very many M4L devices. I just need to select a parameter. The only difference is that instead of a map button, I want to select a parameter with dropdowns like in the Clip View->Envelope gui, hopefully WITH the little marks that say if there's automation on the parameter.
