need help with project
hello, i need help making a patch in max. As i am new with max i haven't got a clue how to start it, but it is probably quite simple so if anyone feels like they could give me a hand do you mind PM'ing me for more info, I would be very grateful.
Cheers!
Really the best way is to go through the tutorials. They are very extensive and even after years of programming in max I still go back to them.
This sounds a lot like a will-you-do-my-homework type question, and a very vague one at that!
Your best bet is to work your way through the max tutorials as mentioned and once you start to feel a bit more comforable with how the program works you can take a peek at the MSP tutorials and then the jitter ones (if you want to work with sound and images too). Familiarise yourself with the objects that get introduced - look through the helpfiles and click on the reference links, the "see also" sections of each helpfile are really good for broadening your horizons.
Then have a go at patching, if you get stuck, come and try again here with an example patch and an explanation of what you want to achieve, what you've tried, what you think it should do and what actually happens. Then the volunteers here can help you get on track!
It will take a bit of time, there's quite a steep learning curve but it's definitely worth the effort. If that sounds too much like hard work (and I apologise in advance) then you can look through the attached example.
His name is Big Time Wanka, he might not really into the 'learning curve' stuff. Please be indulgent ! Luke, great answer !
I thought he was Big Tim Ewan from Kilmarnock!
Sorry Tim - or Wanka - but yeah tutorials are really the way to go!
