Need Scripting Help

I have some problems with my patch.
    1) I couldn't figure it out how to fix width of a number box, when the number is 2 digits, it needs to be adjusted by hand, I know that in the inspector, "patching rectangle"s 3rd argument is about but how to apply?
    2) when I want a layer (in ex. a panel) it just doesn't show the number boxes. Has anyone an idea about adding a visual layer (preffered a gradient one)?
    3) Cpu is between %45 to %55 when it's on (intel mac, 2.4 ghz, 4gb of ram) It seems to me that it's exaggerated, what do you think? Because it is only a part of the job, not all, I may need some room for further processing.
    4) I still don't know how to send a patch as inline text :( Just copying and pasting didn't work it out.
    Thanks in advance,

Are you looking for patching_size / presentation_size? Looking at your patch I would rather use one lcd object and draw text on it than using scripting for that, but that's maybe more a question of taste.

Re: your number box question, you will have to adjust the width and size separately, by using 'patching_rect' and 'fontsize':
Regarding a gradient panel, it sounds like you just need to move the panel object to the back, or the background. You can do this by selecting it and then choosing 'Send to back' or 'include in background' from the Arrange menu.

Thank you all for your answers. Including the background is working but not sending back. Also when I use the panel, responding time of max increases while starting/stopping the application.
When I add "patching_rect", it kills all the numbers coming from date object, just "0"s but if you stop you see some real numbers.
I don't know yet to use LCD object in depth but soon I'll learn, I hope.
