New Intel NUC running Windows 10 - can't get video to play
Hello all - long time macOS user, building a project for a series of PCs. Brand new NUCs running windows 10, can't get videos to play. viddll.engine is version 1.1.0. Is it a problem with the NUC platform?
I'm using Rob's example from this post (July 29 2016):
https://cycling74.com/forums/best-video-codec-video-engine-on-windows-10-moving-from-max-6-to-max-7/
copied here for reference:
When I open this in Max on the PC, I get several dozen of this error:
jit.gl: Invalid extension called
And no video will play (chickens.mp4), even if I try to read my own video.
If I open the jit.movie help file, I can read my own movie, and it plays in the jit.pwindow. However if I try to instantiate the jit.movie object in a new patch, and connect it to a jit.window (for full screen options), Max console throws up a host of jit.gl.texture errors, such as:
error submitting texture data: GL Error: Invalid enumeration
setting teximage during submission.: GL Error: Invalid value
Max videos such as "dishes.mov" will still play, even though the errors continue to repeat over and over, and I'll see the video (dishes) in the named max window. However when I try to load my own video (1920x1080 photo-jpeg), Max console cycles through the same errors, the video plays in the jit.pwindow, but not the named jit.window, it turns solid white.
I tried loading Quicktime and reverting back to my old school object assemblages (jit.qt.movie through jit.window) but still getting same errors.
On a final note, I will say I have 3 identical NUCs, all freshly installed with Windows 10. All producing same behavior. Is there an issue with the NUC platform? Am I missing some core dependancies for Windows? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
hmm, I don't know anything about these machines, but it's possible the GPUs are causing problems here. can you send your OpenGL info (Options -> OpenGL Status -> Copy to clipboard)
you may also want to send a message to support, as they might already be familiar with these issues.
