New to Max MSP - Autocomplete - Packages - GO

I'm new to Max MSP and I've been working my way through the book, Generating Sound and Organizing Time, however I'm curious about autocompletion with the object tool. As recommended in the book, I add the entire contents of the included files to Max's packages folder. While I can access these files by typing their complete names in the object tool, they aren't showing up with autocompletion. I tried adding the folder via File Preferences but no luck. As a test, I added max packages, Auzzie and modulo, via the package manages, and they show up just fine with autocorrection. Also seems worth noting that the GO files are visible in Max's File Browser. What am I missing?
