The jit.cellblock inspector allows background/foreground/etc color choices with transparency, but even with everything set to fully transparent I am unable to see objects that are behind it.

Is this a bug, or is there not actually transparency for jit.cellblock?

Yes this is unusual. It seems like an important feature. I also just discovered it today. Oh the synchronicity!

the appearance section of the jit.cellblock example patch even demonstrates it (works for the grid but not background,text,cell,header). tooo bad

more cellblock mischief:: it doesn't scale with zoom; the window shrinks/grows but the font/grid stay the same size. (5.1.3, win7x64)
