Not Working! - Makenote; pgmout; noteout - MIDI Sound Engine
Hello all,
I am quite new to Max. I don't quite understand the difference yet, but I have M4L with Ableton Suite so I can't use it standalone, but I can through Live (is there any disadvantage with this or is it the same?).
I have managed to play samples with buffer~ etc but when I try to use the computer internal synth to create sounds, nothing happens.
To demonstrate this, when I look at 'pgmout' in the help files and attempt to play the patch, nothing happens. Can someone please help, I don't know how to proceed?
I think (but don't know for sure) that Live doesn't give users access to the system's built in MIDI synth - which probably explains why you aren't getting the results you might expect. Okay thank you for the info. From what I now understand, Live does not give Max access to the in-built MIDI synths, it searches for ones within Live on a Midi track.
