Octaphonic array help
Am a degree student and im presenting my final year project and im proposing to do an octaphonic sound array using Ableton live with max and a digidesign 002. Now im able to assign tracks to speakers for instance drums to 3 + 4, Fx to 5 + 6 ect however im unable to mix one channel to all speakers in a circular motion eg from 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 ect. Im freaking out as it has to be presented in 3 weeks. Do u know of a max patch or indeed a way for me to do this?
Help greatly appreciated. Shane
Many options for that, for example in the CNMAT externals: http://cnmat.berkeley.edu/downloads
or extending the 'quad-spatializer' example in the Max program folder
or https://cycling74.com/search-results/?q=octophonic
or https://cycling74.com/search-results/?q=spatialization
or ...
Just curious, what's your study?
I'm yet to upgrade to Live 9 and the latest M4L so things may have changed but in earlier versions of the Max for Live examples there are a couple of devices called Max API SendsPan & Max API SendsXNodes which can enable the sending of a signal to mulitple destinations using sends - which is limiting, but unfortunately the only practical way to do multichannel stuff in Live. If you want to do multichannel stuff and the playback resources Live offers aren't a big deal to your project, then I'd suggest following the leads posted above.
