Opacity in MSP Jitter
Hi everyone, I'm new to Jitter and am trying to change the opacity of a video according to sound. I have my patch all ready to go except for the opacity (for some reason it's very difficult to change the opacity of my video). My goal is to play one video on top of the other, where one is transparent until the sound comes in. Any suggestions would be greatlt appreciated. Thanks.
Noelle
Hi! I'm Super new too! Couldn't you drop in a vizzie mixer module and use the amplitude to control the level of the mix? Or use the xfade tutorial and limit the fade to control the opacity?
Hi Noelle, firstly it depends on your source material, do's your video file actually have any transparency encoded into it ??
To find out use the jit.unpack object (check help file ) and see if theres any transparency/alpha data there. I know that some files like redball.mov have a transparent background so they could be used to test your setup.
The jitter tutorials over RGB alpha data are your friend here :)
If you just want to fade one video into another then try using jit.xfade object, open up the help file and you'll have a working example for basic crossfading.
