open gl for idiots
Hi, all,
After ~1 year of learning basic jitter and having a great time doing it, I've finally attempted to take the plunge into learning opengl. I've avoided it for a long time because it seemed so far over my head. Unfortunately, after only a couple weeks of tutorials, I have quickly realized that I need to seek some outside help with this. Which brings me to my question:
Does anyone have any recommendations as to resources to look into, whether they be books, websites, etc.? If they had an 'opengl for dummies' book, I would definitely invest, but for now I'm just stuck scratching my head and beating myself up.
Thanks for any and all help/recommendations!
Sincerely,
Anna
I also decided the same thing last week. I went onto Amazon and found this:
http://www.amazon.com/OpenGL-R-Distilled-Paul-Martz/dp/0321336798/ref=pd_bbs_sr_9?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1231880182&sr=8-9
It's relatively recent and written for beginners and people who want more of a quick overview of OpenGL. Also, it's only six bucks used, so with shipping it came to ten bucks. Hopefully it will be good.
i would say this forum is also a good learning resources. if you ask clear questions you usually get clear answers.
