Opening Max standalone that made on Max8 on a PC with Max9
Will I encounter any problems if I will upgrade to Max9 and will try to open Standalone apps made on Max 8? or there is nothing to do between the two as max standalone not needed Max installed on the computer at all.. (?)
edit: Or any other problems that may riseup when updating from Max8 to Max9 ?
Try ...! OS ? Mac ? Intel ? Windows ? Filepath needed, or files outside of your app ? Gatekeeper ? imho begin to place the folder of your standalone or your standalone in the Applications folder. nb: normslly goal of a standalone is like it's name, needs nothing more than itself. imho Max8/9 near is not a problem. Try and see what happens !

the relative ("beside max") search path is always per runtime.
As first make standalones properly,
with own preferences path etc set in inspector.
That has nothing to do with max8 vs max9,
but is necessary to separate all settings from max editor version.
You can use max8 alongside max9 without problems.
