OSC-route and touch osc.
Hi, i´ve a problem trying to control max/msp with my ipodtouch using TouchOsc, the thing is that i don´t want to use osculator for example to convert the osc information to midi, i want to use the osc-route object but i don´t know how to get the information from the faders, toggles etc, of touchOSC to control the faders, toggles etc on max. i hope you can help me dudes. i´ll really get happy with an answer.
All the best.
Hook up a [print] object to the output of OSCRoute first, to see how the faders/toggles/buttons are formatted. Then you should be able to route things around as needed.
If you want update info to be sent back to your iPodTouch, you'd need to go the other direction too. Normally this would cause a stack overflow/feedback loop, but I *think* there's built-in protection for this in the TouchOSC app. (Which rocks by the way!)
viscera,
Have you taken a look at the Max patches on this site:
http://hexler.net/software/touchosc
About mid-way down the page, there are some Max patches. If you open them up, you should be able to see how to do what you want.
After trying that if you still don't see how to do things, you can send an email to me with questions. I'll be happy to try to help you get things going.
