Parameters reset to zero when adding another device
My custom maxforlive device parameters reset to zero from what I had before when I add another device. For example when I drop a LFO midi device in front of mine, my custom device dials all go back down. How can I prevent this from happening?
That's not normal. Hard to tell what's happening without looking into your device.
It's pretty basic. Basically each dial can pick from a list of frequencies

I figured it out. I had to remove the midi cable goin into the dial. I thought that was needed for midi control
[midiin] is sending cc 123 0 (all notes off) when a new device is added.
