Patch won't open

I've been changes to a particular patch, and it locked up. After quite a wait, I forceably shut Max down, and was still unable to open the patch, though it will open a new patch. Shutdown\restart doesn't do anything either.

Is there a key sequence where I can bypass the running of the patch in question without doing anything except for opening it ? I obviously have to make a change, but can't get in there to make it.
