Patchbay - Live Looper

Hey everyone,

Hope you might be able to help out a rather stuck n00b....:-s

I am creating an 8 channel live looper patch for a university project. Each channel has a set of effects, 8 at present (making more as I go along)

I am struggling with how to make some kind of patch bay for these effects so I can have them in any order I want on each channel whilst the patch is locked and in presentation mode.

I want the same functionality that I have whilst the patch is unlocked in the way I can take the output of any effects sub patch that I have made and wire it into the input of another one and so on and so forth. Exactly the same as you would in a real studio using hardware effects.

So far i have looked at;
(matrix~)
(matrixctrl)
(umenu)
(gate~)
(gswitch)
(gswitch2)

I hope this is enough information, if not I will try my best to provide more.

Thanks

You could try something using [matrix~] and some [send~] and [receive~] pairs (to introduce a signal vector's worth of delay). This way you can specify the order of the effects. You could also look in to saving the effects as seperate patches then loading them into [poly~] objects where you have more control of the muting.

Cheers Luke, Im intrigued by this (poly~) object. Im getting nowhere using matrix so will try (poly~) for a while, I have looked at your patch, thank you ever so much. Not had much luck with it though, will keep trying.

Could I ask though, how do you get that txt version of the patch?

"copy compressed" is what that's called.

I think a matrixctrl hooked up to [matrix~ 8 8] or whatever is just about the perfect way to deal with such issues. It's also a lot easier to work with than poly~.

Nice one Wetterberg, Im dead impressed with that copy compressed thing. Makes it a little easier sending patches to friends and stuff, as well as posting them here.

I shall take another look at matrix then as you are third person to say that is the way to do it so it must just be me being a dunce!

For now and for reference this is a very stripped down version of what Have, including just one channel and three effects.
