pattr nub
please excuse my ignorance to all of this. I am BRAND new to this. I am trying to insert a pattr object, bu it is not in the list of objects. I downloaded the pattr_20100803m.zip and saw the file pattr.mxo but there were no instructions where to put it. I placed copies of this file in every folder i could find that had.mxo files, but still nothing came up when i opened M4L. Can anyone please guide me on how to gain access to these? also I am looking to use autopatr. WIll i need to DL something else for that, or is it included in that file?
Cheers
Mikee
you should not have done this, like at all. The pattr objects are included in the Max distribution, hence you should not have anything named pattr.mxo or pattr.maxpat in your filepaths if you want it to work. It will cause conflicts. Now, you should erase anything you have dowloaded that is named pattr.mxo and try again.
thank you for your reply.. I am confused though, because before i downloaded the pattr.mxo I could not add a pattr object in M4L. There was nothing to choose from that even looked remotely like a pattr object.. How do i access these objects?
make a new object (n key) and type "pattr" - that will also reveal the other objects in the pattr family
Thank you for your reply. I think I need to explain something a bit more. After creating a new object a palette of availble objects comes up. In that pallet there is no PATTR, or anything remotely name like that. As suggested, I can not simply type pattr and get the desired result. I understand that it should show up, but its as though the version of MAX/MSP I am using has no pattr with it. THis is why i tired downloading it. Can anyone please explain to me how to install the pattr objects so that i can use them?
When I go to 'abou't it says Version 5.1.9
thank you .
can anyone please help. ?
