peqbank~ problem

    Dear list,
Wietse Zeedijk (wzeedijk@planet.nl) is buidling a prototype for his graduation project and is having a problem with the peqbank~ object. It is not exactly clear why it crashes but please read on if you are familiar with this object. It would be great if you could help him.
When using the Max/MSP object peqbank~ (version 2.0 by Tristan Jehan), the bank often explodes, resulting in a crash of Max/MSP. This problem occurs mainly when the parameters of the peqbank are operated by external sensors (I am using the shelf eq and the parametric eq and in both cases this problem exists). Since the sensors send rapidly changing signals I checked if rapid mouse-movement also resulted in a crash: this was the case. I am using a Mac G5 with OSX and I also checked if the rapid mouse-movement-crash existed on a G4 with OSX, this was not the case. This might mean that the G5 causes the problem.
Can this problem be eliminated? If yes: how?
Are there alternative EQ banks that use the same input parameters as peqbank for shelf and parametric eq?
    Thanks, --Aadjan

Hmm. It should not crash. For the moment, try putting a speedlim object in between your sensor input and the peqbank~.

As You say, I cannot reproduce this on my G4. Could you send me (offlist) a crashlog and an example patch?
