phasor/metronome pulse variation?

hello

im new to msp and really enjoy the interface.

i have a question with pics maybe someone will know an answer to this as i just cant figue it out.

in my layout i have this metronome that triggers 0 1 0 1 0 1

layout so far >

The metronome sends 0n off on off at regular equal intervals.
but i wonder how to alter the msp layout so that a slider could change the intervals , like in the picture below?>

ive included the msp file here below its stored on fileden
and its in .maxpat format (max msp 5)

maybe someone knows how to alter the layout to make a slider vary the wave form I've heard that a phasor would be better than a metronome as time messages sent at MSP rate would be perhaps better than max message rate (bangs get sent to the processor way slower than msp audio rate stuff ive been told.

any help on this would be great

peace: )

You could use [phasor~] connected to a [>~ 0.5], which would output a square wave, and you can change the 0.5 to a different value, say, 0.3 or 0.9, to change the pulse width. But you could also do it by adding a delay object that you control with the slider. Example:

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

I've been experimenting with train~ seeing as you mentioned doing it at audio rate, just saw the previous post as well so I'll experiment with that method as well.

Here's something that might work.

I've not tried to tweak this to get the range of 0.1 to 4 seconds, but it shouldn't be hard.

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.
