Pictslider Help

Hello all,

Can anyone help me to invert the output of a pictslider?

i have two pictsliders controlling different parameters in my patch and i have them set up so that one controlles the other. BUT, i need to invert the controls so that when the X axis is at the bottom of one, it is at the top of the other (and vice versa)

ive been using max5 for a couple of months so i'm still really new to it. could anyone possibly point me in the right direction?

Thanks

I guess you mean the Y axis...
You can do this with !-
Example if you're using values from 0 to 127, use [!- 127]

The !- would do the trick for this, as mentioned. Also you can use the [scale] object to input a range and output a scaled range, which can be inverted. [scale] is very very useful in a lot of situations, also look at [zmap] which is similar but slightly different (can't invert, but it restricts the output range I think).

thanks to both of you for such rapid replies! its working perfectly.

you saved me a lot of time. i know the best way to learn this stuff at this stage is to get stuck in and do the tutorials but sometimes it helps to get a little nudge in the right direction.

Thank you again!
