Piezo microphone to max - getting the cheapest multichannel audiocard
I am itrigued with the Piezo microphone Stretta uses here:
I am wondering if one would like to use several of those - to build a digital drumset of sorts - what would be a cheap way to connect them to max
I know I could buy an expensive audiocard with, lets say 8 audio inputs
But am interested if someone has any idea of doing it cheaper?
Best regards
Second hand Alesis D4 or DM5 drum module, they have twelve trigger inputs to midi. (there's an Akai trigger interface too, forget the model number)
You can use ultra cheap piezo transducers & mount them how you like.
Of course this will give you midi only outputs, not quite what Stretta is doing in those vids, as you will have no audio from the piezos to mix back in. Cheaper however than an 8x audio interface & 8 Planet Waves clips.

Thanks :)
Im not a big fan of midi - would go for a 8 channel OSC module (why cant everything be OSC) - but audio is what I would like the most
Also - can anybody tell me what model of piezo clip he is using?
this one looks nice - with a fair price point
