pitch shift real time
Hi All,
which is the best quality way for the real time pitch shift?
I hope somebody knows some recent solution: free, payment,
VST, MaxForLive, MaxMsp.. Anything.
I've found just playback or metallic noise and latency ways,
I'm very sad because I really need it...
Please, any help is very appreciated.

Look at IRCAM SuperVP
@N00B_MEISTER Your links are all about gizmo: gizmo is not what i'm looking for,
because makes a bit of noise and delay... (may be i can't set it)
@DHJDHJDHJ I can't find the download (or buy) of the SuperVP, in many links i see: "404 not found"
where can I find it?
This one isn't gizmo based at all. It's time (as opposed to frequency) based transposition.
I think it sounds the best (in a glitchy kind of way).
Don't get lured into pay-to-play externals...
it's part of the ircam forum, you should be able to buy it through the ircam forum store
BUT
SuperVP is a gas factory, there are specific pitch shifter built with it. You should be able to find satisfying results in the ircam forum max externals.
@quantesizer
I beg to differ: if you take time to read the example threads I cite, they are not "all about gizmo", they reference a variety of alternative methods. The real point of my initial response was to highlight the value of using the forum's search function.
And, at the risk of offending or at least contradicting dhjdhjdhj, I would echo Rodrigo's comment about pay-to-play externals. Unless you have a strict deadline to meet.
I like the pitchshifter that's in the gen~ demos for simple things. It's got a blur factor built in, so that lessens some of the characteristic OLA (OverLap-Add) artifacts.
transposer (OLA), gizmo~ (spectral) are part of the Max distribution. It really depends on the kind of sound that you need to process, the amount of transposition that you need to use, how fast you change the transposition, polyphony of the source material... Just try them all out.
Ircam has various transposition objects for Max (psych~, psychotrist~, sogs~/rogs~, supevp.*), which uses different techniques so they have advantages/disadvantages depending on what you're doing.
I need to change the pitch of entire songs that come in real time...
