"Please wait while Windows configures Max 7"
We run Max in a networked computer lab environment. When I install and launch Max 7.3.3 under my login it works, however when the next user launches Max 7.3.3 for the first time, they will be presented with a Windows Installer dialog box – ‘Please wait while Windows configures Max 7’
I have tried installing this via the msiexec /I "C:\Downloads\Max786.msi" ALLUSERS=1 /qn command, and also tried both 32-bit and 64-bit versions with no luck.
I have administrator rights to these machines
change user /install
msiexec /i "C:\Downloads\Max7.msi" ALLUSERS="1"
When the next user launches Max 7.3.3 for the first time, they will be presented with a Windows Installer dialog box – ‘Please wait while Windows configures Max 7’
This has also been tested on another clean machine (Windows 10) and it is exhibiting the same behaviour as well.
Can this message be switched off, please?
The first time you launch Max, it builds a database that the application will use when it's operating (important stuff that, for example, the File Browser uses). Since the application is starting from zero, it takes a bit to create it, but it's what's *supposed* to happen, and what happens on every Max system. In fact, the database that is being built is so useful that you can *rebuild* it while Max is running by putting the message ; max db.reset
in a message box, locking your patch, and clicking on the message box.
