Pluggo and Max 5

I have downloaded Pluggo runtime under the impression that I would be able to build my own vsts. From what I have read, when I select from the File menu build a collective or application, I should have an option to save as a vst. However, I cannot. So, I would just like to be able to understand whether or not I can build my own vsts with Max 5 and Pluggo runtime(I know that I can run vsts that others have built).

Nope, unfortunately that is no longer possible as of Max5. Cycling74 have moved their time over to developing Max4Live, which is essentially Max5 built into Ableton Live, fully editable patches as effects/instruments etc.......so basically Pluggo is now exclusively licensed to Ableton........ :(

You can still compile Pluggos using Max4, but support for current and future operating system and VST/AU/RTAS upgrades has been stopped; so functionality isn't guaranteed.

you can try SynthEdit to make your own, then control them (or any others) using vst~.
