Pluggo plug-in makes Ableton Live crash bigtime
hi everybody, i made a super simple pluggo patch, just to
test it in Live. just one parameter (pp) to adjust volume
but everytime i load it in Live and adjust the slider live crashes
completely. anyone have any idea what's this about?
thanx alot, greets tom
(my guess from another thread: the pluggo objects had the same names Max4Live(m4L) now has, maybe Live is expecting those objects to apply in an M4L context, while you're still applying them in a Pluggo context; test your Pluggo in an environment besides Ableton to make sure this isn't just specific to how Ableton deals with those objects as a result of the new addition of M4L)
thanx again for replying. sorry for the doubly thread :) i had sort of simultaneously posted them, thus the double.
i'm not within reach of another daw at the moment but will try asap. is that m4l addition already in ableton live 7? because i use live 7 still.
thanx
"thus the double...." no worries.
"is that m4l addition already in ableton live 7?"
unfortunately, no, it's for live8 but there are special deals if you own other versions of live or if you own max, etc.:

hmmm... then i suppose the pluggo problem wouldn't be the m4l addition in my case. greetz
ok... so now i loaded the little plugin in the vst object in max, and the same thing happens. max crashes in just the same way that live crashed earlier on. can it be that i have to install some special pluggo package or something? thanx
don't know, try posting your pluggo patch here, too, maybe someone will find something else that'll help...
show us the patcher
nooooot good.
- use the first output
- connect the slider back to the pp, too.
hi roman, thanx, that makes sense, i apparently overlooked it in the help file. is there a pluggo tutorial that you know of? or you reckon i should be alright with the helpfiles?
thanx
there should be a pluggo development pdf from cycling74 .
i *think* i got mine with my boxed pluggo version 2.0 back in the days.
btw, you also need to have a [plugconfig] in you patch and give the plug an ID
number other than beginning with 128 (to make it work in most hosts)
riiiight!! that should be the problem! because i try'd your suggestion ,and still it kept crashing. so i'll try the config then. (i'm gonna have to upgrade to max 5 and max4live sometime, but still i really like the pluggo thing) thanx alot
