Plugsync~ tempo

hey,

what's the number that comes out of the tempo outlet of plugsync~ in logic (presumably a similar number in other apps as well, but all I care about is logic :-)

here's a table with the number out of plugsync~ on the left, and the bpm in logic on the right ...

5759.999512 = 500bpm
2399.998047 = 120bpm
576000 = 5bpm
28799.998047 = 100bpm
239999.984375 = 12bpm

etc ...

I can't figure out any rhyme or reason for it ...

Right out of the MSP reference manual, page 308:

"The current tempo in samples per beat. This number can be
converted to beats per minute using the following formula: (sampling-rate
/ samples-per-beat) * 60. If the host does not support synchronization,
there is no output from this outlet."

forgetting that all this pluggo stuff is included in the current distro, I was checking a (probably ancient) pluggo dev guide that didn't mention it.
