Polyphonic sample playback
Hello all! =)
Excuse my ignorance, I've been away from Max for a bit. I can't seem to remember if there was any object for helping this happen for me. I am making a generative piece that requires a lot of samples (I own logic and all my instruments and samples are bound to it =P) so up until this point I was just creating excessive amounts of [sfplay~] objects to reference. Now I'm realizing that with a faster melody, I might get a fast three note instance that would reference only two notes, cutting off the full playback of it's first instance.
So where to begin? I really appreciate your help!
Check out the poly~ object for voice handling. You might also look into the sflist~ object as an easy way for sfplay~ to reference multiple files.
Thank you so much Holland! And might I add that I really appreciate your banjo and electronics pieces that were sampled on your site =) really interesting idea!
Glad the suggestions were helpful. And thanks for checking out the banjo and electronics stuff. I'm working on a new batch of pieces, so check back soon for more recordings.
Jhaysonn,
Wanted to follow-up now that some banjo and electronics pieces are part of an official release. You can hear them at http://hollandhopson.bandcamp.com/album/post-beam. They were all made with Max.
Enjoy!
