I am using this simple poly~ patcher to play samples from a polybuffer~

When I load 10 instances of this file into a poly~ (poly~ thisfile 10), it takes approximately 30 seconds of spinning wheel to load. My computer takes more than one minute to load 20 instances. It is even longer if the poly~ is inside a Max for Live device.

Once loaded, the patcher works great, but my work is tremendously slowed down by such long loading times: I am using several ones in several Max For Live devices and everytime I edit the poly~ patcher I have time to drink 3 coffees before it is saved and updated - 1995 style.

Why is it so long? The patcher is basically just a combination of groove~ and curve~. Opening a regular Max patcher with 20 groove~ objects doesn't take that long.

I tried to put the file on different locations on my hard drive, erase parts of the patch to see what could take so much time to load, I have reinstalled Max 7.3.3. I have used poly~ for a while but have never experienced this behavior.

It seems you have a few more embedded styles than you need...

I am never using styles, and I have no idea how they got there and how to get rid of them. Any leads?

There seems to be a bug with Max For Live accumulating styles and making the files super big. After using 11OLSEN's "style remover" patch my file is 33Ko and it loads fine now.
