PPOOLL

I am running win 7 and was trying to run Ppooll and it gave me these errors:

Hi, I get the same problems as you, did you find an explanation?
Thanks!
A.
I'm not familiar with Ppooll, but if you search the forum, you'll see I had a similar 'not a folder' issue recently, and the solution was to manually direct the appropriate folder object (which you can find by clicking on the error message in the Max window) to that folder.
This is most easily done by hooking up a dropfile to it, or you can send it an 'open' message and navigate to the folder in the Finder,
cheers

just stumbled about this post...
the trouble is file permissions.
ppooll tried to create the folder ppooll_presets but failed. a recheck is missing which leads to the errors posted above.
in a next version i will implement this check_if_the_folder_could_be_created.
anyways, you need to set the file permission of the folder /Cycling '74/
to read&write for the user running max.

Hi,
I recently downloaded lloopp for Windows and am having some trouble trying to run through the 'quick and dirty guide'.
The lloopp host file opens fine, but when I try and open the gg.rainer act I get the following message
"The procedure entry point patcher_resolvebox could not be located in the dynamic link library MaxAPI.dll"
I get the same message when I try and open the buffer host, and there is no 'new' audio file link in the buffer host when it opens,.
Both of the acts open okay but there seems to be some data missing that is stopping them from working properly. In the message window I get numerous variations on the following:
newobj: shell: No such object
pattr: (u923001659): failed to bind to target (::ho_st1::act_menu)
Warning: you have multiple files in your search path with the name ll.gettextsize.js
jpatchline_completeconnection: index out of range.
I guess it might be an installation problem, or something to do with my externals folder. Can anyone offer any advice? I'm pretty new to Max and, although the tutorials are going okay, external patches are still pretty alien to me.
hi,
are you sure you are talking about ppooll (not lloopp)?
if you are using max5 or max6, please download ppooll 1.9 here:
http://ppooll.klingt.org/index.php/downloads
and try again. (please read the readme)
also make sure, there are no old versions in your searchpath.
the "Warning: you have multiple files..." you get, tell me you do ;)

hi
thanks for the reply. I've re-installed ppooll following the readme guidelines, installing quicktime, and now have it running with no errors appearing on startup. However, I can't get any sound when I load up a sample into gg.rainer, despite seeing the wave for the sample looping in the act. I can still get sound from other msp patches, just not ppooll.
I wondered if I had missed something from the final part of the readme instructions. Where it says:
step3:
make an alias on the file "ppooll_host.maxpat" (located in the folder ppooll) and put it somewhere to have it handy.
(re)start max.
open the file "ppooll_host.maxpat
I was unsure what to do here as I've no idea how to make an alias on a file, so I just opened up the ppooll_host file from the file browser menu in max. Could this be the problem?
gg.rainer opens with volume (vol) set to 0.
move the blue slider at bottom a bit and you shoud hear something (audio in ho_st must be ON).
(some patches open with volume 1, some with volume 0, depending on who made them).
you may try synthesizing patches like fmrm, oscbank@ or noise@ that do not use buffers for a clearer result.
I think that's the problem. There is no blue slider (I can see where it should be from the images in the manual). There is a blue area with the message 'II_Number', but no slider. I tried the oscbank@ but it shows the same thing.
outch,
checked the version upload and for some reason the windows version of ll_number is missing there !!
please go to the ppooll-site and download this one extra:
http://ppooll.klingt.org/index.php/uploads
and put into your ppooll as described there.
and then try again...
hi Klaus,
I've been making a new act this afternoon and i would like it to be recognized by the host ( to create instances with the host menu) but i don't find how to do that .... :(
some help would be very welcome !!
hi mathieu
in your patch:
create a new object actmaker with 2 arguments:
1st argument: the name of your patch as it is saved to disk.
2nd argument the background color (1 for white as a shortcut, "255 0 0" for red)
so the object looks something like that: [actmaker yourname 1]
this will create all you need automatically.
(to see parameters, give your UIs a scripting name)
now save this patch under its original name into ppooll/ppooll.acts/
and ho_st will see it.
...and please tell me if this worked.

Hi,
I am having trouble installing ppooll.
I followed the instructions and came so far, that I can open ppooll host.
However, now I see that for every object, II_number does not work. Is this an extension that I need to download?
hi sreaina,
in the newest release, ll_number should work on all windows versions again.

how about xsample.mxe64 ?
it still suffers error 126 loading external ...
xsample.mxe64 will never happen. in the new ppooll patches that used xsample have gen~ patches by c.hausch instead that do the same.
1- why don't you remove it if it anyway does not work ?
2- I will test to see if gen replacements really offer same functionality as xsampe.
thank you !
P.S. can you get more specific about that gen patches ?
I can see only xgroove attemp to cover few original xgroove functions in abstractions, but no trace of xrecord or xplay ?
1- it is removed
2- thank you
