problem max 5.1.0 and edirol fa 66

if i don't connect my audio board (edirol fa 66) when my laptop starts, max don't find it, in MIDItester it doesn't appeare...only if i plug it when the laptop is turn off,....afetr, turning on it, the audio board will be recognise by max....why?

Because of the Edirol drivers, this isn't a Max issue. Roland, and M-Audio and other soundcards often display this type of startup idiosyncrasy. My Motu828 used to do something similar until i updated the drivers.

Does this happen with any of your other music software?

Sorry, can't help there then, I'm a windoze user. What if you start the macbook, start the edirol then Max. Does Max see the card then?
