Problem: Mixing 4 Video Sources in one Window
I'm a bit of a noob here but I'm trying hard and slowly getting my head around Jitter -- I'm sure this will be easily sorted but for the life of me I can't work it out...still making my way through the tutorials so I'm sure latter I could sort this but I really want to get this fixed sooner rather than later.
In the patch below I have 4 video sources coming in, two are mixed in the RED box and two are mixed in the GREEN box.
When the two sources play out to the ext. 'window' the mix fine and play back smoothly, also when the two sources mixed together from the GREEN side.
However when I want the two sources from the RED side to play out to the same ext. 'Window' as the two sources from the GREEN side, they both work but not smoothly, creating a kind of strobing effect, which is nice but I don't want this continuously.
Are there too many sources??
Do I need to send the Green sources and the Red Sources to separate objects? and then mix them together using an A/B configuration?
Thanks
Ok so I've sorted this using the jit.xfade object.
However i still feel this patch is a little dodgy...
here is tyhe solution I came up with -- it DOESN'T include jit.xfade as mentioned in my previous post...
Does this look ok??
Hi Tom,
This thread might help you a bit. You'll also want to look into doing this on the GPU with shaders.
best,
Zachary
Hi Zachary
Thats a nice piece of patching there, thanks for pointing me over the.
In regards to GPU with Shaders could you please point me in the right direction as to what particular objects i should be looking at.
Thanks
Tom.
