Problems while creating new objects

Hello,

It has been a while since my max5 version is not helping me finding the objects
when i create a new object box. Basically if i start dialing the name of an object
into the object box, it wont list the ones that start with the letters i begin to write.
(is it maybe a problem with the searchpath?).

I've tried to uninstall max5 more than once but
there's apparently no way to to solve this problem. (i've noticed that even if i'm
deleting max from my computer, all the preferences that i had from the previous
settings i had are still the same. Maybe the problem is related to some
prefs i've accidentally set. Hence i have tried hard to see where they could be but
with no success.

Please if you could help me in this it would be great.
