Proper Path/Folder locations for OSC-route and

NashvilleRad's icon

I'm totally new to MaxMSP. But within the last day, I've managed to correctly interface a small analog sequencer through an Arduino to Max, and was able to identify that Max is getting sequenced signals/control voltages by experimenting with the different input options in the Max patch.

I did this using the older Maxuino Version 7, since the layout seemed more simplistic and easy to use as a beginner.

Of course, I would like to be able to keep up with the software as changes are made and have tried to use version 14, but I can't even see where any signal is even making it in to the patch ... I suspect it may have something to do with the installation of files to the correct paths.

So, here's my question:

On the Maxuino "Getting Started" portion of the webpage, the bginning steps include: "Add the entire Maxuino folder and the OSC-route object to your Max filepath" .......

....... while the README file from the “OSC-route” Max external from CNMAT folder states: "To use this and all other Java (mxj) objects, install all *.class files in Max5/Cycling '74/java/classes."

Does anyone have advice for properly getting the correct Arduino and OSC files to the correct path/folder locations - on a Mac?

Thanks for the help.
