pure data book by johannes kreidler
johannes kreidler wrote a tutorial book about pure data and i think programming electronic music in general, but i'm not shure. http://www.pd-tutorial.com/
i'm thinking of buying the paperback version to boost my maxmsp skills on the road. would it be a usefull reading if you use maxmsp?
I think it's an amazing book.
PD was lacking a organized tutorial IMO, there is of course Miller's book (and some others), but the one from Johannes is incredibly cool because it explains a lot of musical/sound theories (excuse my english...) in a very-easy-to-understand way.
I have to add that I thought that MaxMSP tutorials were the best app tutorials on the planet until that one came out few days ago =)
As Pd and Max are (still) very close, I highly recommend it to the people I know that are learning Max (and/or PD).
My 0.02...
Ciao
i'll be in berlin for a few days soon. is there a store over there were i can buy the paperback version?
best place for getting books for nerds is Lehmann, close to Ernst-Reuter Platz. If they dont have it they can order anything...
I think it the best bookstore for anything in town...
