Random Octave Jumper : help ?

chapelier fou's icon

I've got this simple idea : randomly jump incoming notes one or two octaves up.
The tricky part is to correctly output notes-off.
My current patch seems to suffer from missing notes-off.
I was thinking maybe the use of poly~ would be better ?
Any help would be nice !

Hello.
Away from computer..I cannot see your patch.
Not sure but with one (or two) native Random midi devices correctly set, it is not possible to achieve the same result ?

if you want to change pitch in realtime, there is no other option than to save the original pitches somewhere, and use those to change them whenever a note off event comes in.

I write the InNotes after Boarx in a Coll, with the Voice-Nr. and the "new Pitch". When the Note Off for this Voice arrives I ask Coll about the right new Pitch.
Here my Octave Device

Woah, @Schlam, you're absolutely right.
In Live, Random device, set to Choice 1 and Scale 12 just works.
Classical example of the the Max For Live syndrom.
