Hello. In my Max install I do see Reason in the device list generated by the rewire object
(A) Is the Max installation on your machine running in 64 Bit mode?
To link via ReWire both client and controller must be in the same architecture, either 32 bit or 64 bit.
Reason 8.3+ only runs in 64 bit (here)
To determine which architecture Max is using, open Max, click the Max Menu Bar item, select "About Max." The current architecture will be displayed on the top left of the info pane.
To change which mode Max is in go to the Max application (usually in Macintosh HD/Applications), select it, and press ⌘ I.
If the "open in 32-bit mode" option is checked, disable it. Sometimes Max needs two restarts or the machine needs a restart before launching in 64 bit mode.

(B) In many cases there is a ReWire folder in:
1) Macintosh HD/Users/YourUsername/Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/
AND
2) Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/

Location (1) should have an alias, "Max 7 Rewire Device", pointing to Macintosh HD/Applications/Max 7/Contents/Resources/C74/externals/ad/MSPReWireDevice.bundle
Location (2) should have an alias, "Reason Engine.plugin", pointing to /Applications/Reason/Reason.app/Contents/PlugIns/Reason Engine.plugin
Both (1) and (2) usually have an item called ReWire.bundle

If (A) does not work post back and we can look at what might be going on with (B)
