Recording Live Performance
I've had a look around the forums but I'm still unsure. I want to record my gig next week. I'll basically just be recording guitar loops. I want to either record the set into a buffer which I can then edit later, or straight into Logic. What's the simplest way to do this? Here's the patch I'll be using:
Thanks!
I didn't look at the patch but I wonder would [adoutput~] do the trick. It will record the stereo output of max. Just look at the helpfile.
If you want seperate outs (drums/guitars/synth etc) you can send lots of channels into [sfrecord~]. I sometimes record 6 channels at once (5.1). It saves as a wav file and I can open that in Audacity and have all 6 channels separately.
Thanks, I've had a look at the help patch but I'm not quite sure what to connect the [adoutput~] to. Do I connect my dac~ outputs to it?
Why not just use Extras > Quickrecord ?
@Phil - just pop that little help patch in your patch someplace and it automatically listens to the outputs you set and records it to disk. No need to connect it to anything. Quickrecord is good - for some reason I just never used it... must start.
sfrecord with many channels is definitely a great thing if you want to record your live and edit it somewhere else
Another thing very helpful is to send what you recorded in place of your adc so you can exactly look at what you did during your show
