recreate object "mf_accum" in MAX 8

Hi guys, I wanted to recreate an old max 5 or 6 patch (from a video) in MAX 8. But since I couldn't find out what kind of message 'mf_' is, the MAX 8 patch is not working. Using just MAX 8's "accum" doen't help. Thanks a lot for your time and help!

it is probably abstraction collecting input of that object on the right
processing it, and output on bang.

I have no idea what it should do internaly,
but you can try to replace it with accum 0.

(set float attribute to enable float processing.)

Ja, I tried accum 0. but didn't react as in the video. Something different is going on there since "mf_accum" output values seem to reset obove 1. Would have to recreate patch im Max 6 but needs OS 10.11. - so no chance for me. video link: http://www.richardsides.com/work/vector.html

post that patch, I have max from version 3 to 8 all ready to run.
I can't recognise what that slider does really.
Values jump up and down, without real relation to slider
going positive or negative.

I thought you have old patch which can't load in max 8,
and offered to look inside for you.
Why don't you mail to Richard Sides and ask what is inside ?

it could be some kind of random generator,
and that slider affects output in some way.

or then something completely else.

No, sorry. The patch in the video is an old Mark Fell patch. Maybe you can quickly check in your Max 6 what the 'mf_accum' does. Thx

there is no max external named mf_accum.
that must be abstraction.

Thanks for checking it out! Sure you're right. I was hoping that it was a Max 5 or 6 external that is missing in newer versions. Many thanks for your time! Best, P.
