Retrieve audio from an Internet database
Hello everyone! I am new here, and kind of new to Max, but I am willing to give everything I am: here, and to learn Max. I have used the search function before posting, but couldn't seem to find the answer...
What I want to do is a Max patch that can receive information from another program (but that's not the main issue right now, I guess :)), like a tag, and make a connection to the Internet, to a given audio samples database, and, using that tag, retrieve a sound which is appropriate, and play it.
For example: Max receives "bear", Max connects to the Internet and looks for sounds which are tagged as "bear", chooses one (randomly), and reproduces it.
Is this even possible or am I dwelling into an infinite swamp of advanced programming? I'm more than willing to learn!
Thanks so much everyone, and I'm sorry if this type of question has already been asked before. Maybe I am missing something very obvious, but I'm trying hard :)
Right here,
Cisne
Hello everyone, once again. So, I see that what I want to do may be impossible to do in Max/MSP, right?...
I'll keep researching about this, but please, if anyone has any opinion, please share. I'd thank you forever! :)

You may want to explore the jit.uldl object. It comes with Jitter.
Hey there - danny -, thank you so much for the heads up, I always knew the Max family is the most supporting ever :)
I will try during the weekend, and will post here the results as I go along, for future reference.
Thanks again, so much, and see you soon!
