reverb externals or tutorials ?
Hi,
The nice max objects gigaverb~, mono verb~, free verb~ cannot any longer be downloaded, so now I am looking for some other max externals or tutorials that will help me make some reverb. Does anyone know where to find max reverb objects or tutorials?
Cheers,
Kaspar
actually Max ships with gen~ versions of at least freeverb and gigaverb. Don't know about monoverb.
Anyway, I'd recommend reading schroeder's "natural sounding artificial reverberation"
Hi again,
Thanks for the tip. I bookmarked the article. When yous say that "actually Max ships with gen~ versions of at least freeverb and gigaverb", do you mean that I can load them into a gen~ object? How do I do that without diving into all the gen~ tutorials? (which is very time consuming for me right now ...)
Best,
Kaspar
Have a look at the examples folder!
Hi
Besides the reverb examples that ship with Max, mentioned above, if you want to experiment and learn, several years ago, flushed with naif knowledge about audio DSP, I put together a short video tutorial based on Curtis Roads' explanation of delays, filters and reverbs. It omits to mention the important point about limiting delay times to the signal vector size in Max, but it should help you build a DIY reverb if you wish to learn how.
[EDIT] bad link removed

. . . why does the forum now embed actual video into the thread? That can't be healthy, surely?
seems to be the wrong video also, seemed interesting to hear yor thoughts about reverbs in max, but nothing there
WTF
thanks for pointing that out mate. On yout*be, search for "fCast toots4noobs_4" and you'll find it. When the OP chips in, I'll delete that previous post.

Kaspar, I ported the rev3~ abstraction over from pd to max a while back. You can find it here:

It is a very simple but good sounding reverb. If you open it up you'll see it is really a bunch of delays.
Hope it helps,
Mitch
Hi all,
Thank you for all your replies! Now I feel like diving into it.
