ring modulation in beap

How to make ring modulation in beap?

Hi, Hirokli. You don't need BEAP to do it. It's probably easier to build it from scratch.

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

Thank you.
I want to lean BEAP.
Ring modulation is basic effect , but i cannot make patch with beap.
Can you help?

I want to lean BEAP... Ring modulation is basic effect

BEAP is part of Max, to learn BEAP, you learn Max.
indeed, it is very basic, just a multiply operation, so you can just take the output of whatever BEAP modules you want and multiply them together(this is probably why the creator of BEAP didn't make an RM module - they didn't assume you would use BEAP strictly by itself if you ever wanted to extend it... they built it in Max so that you could extend it with Max)

hope it helps 🍻

i would go even further: beap was made to make people learn max, otherwise it can hardy be useful.

(but otoh, couldnt you also expect that it offers RM FM AM modules beside its oscillators and step sequencers? hmm.)

Thank you , i got BEAP philosophy!!
I just start learn MAX , so it was questionable.

there is an FM module.
and i think RM and AM are in some of the very first MSP tutorials everyone should study on their own: https://docs.cycling74.com/max8/tutorials/00_mspindex

so i think Stretta(the creator of BEAP) is very wise for constructing just this much and only this much(i've noticed he knows how to budget his time well in everything he does 🙌)

i know, it is a bit stupid to put 2 objects into a bpatcher. then again, for eurorack they do all of this.

should we tell him to simply make his own beap module for RM? that will be eventually a solution quicker than searching if it exists already.

i think it might be better if we tell the eurorack makers to stop doing that and teach analog synthesists to build their own.
would also be better for the environment not to have factory runs of such modules en masse; when people build their own they end up figuring out the tech better and more efficiently than when they leave it up to a company to generalize production
😁😇 (i need a Karl Marx emoji here)

somebody told me yesterday that music software would be a form of democratisation of the means of production.

i could not resist to reply that it is still easier to solder your own analog synth than to build your own computer processor.

but hey at least we shared the same dream.

google has groucho, but not karl.

he looks a bit like maduro though. can you equally distribute means of production by having none left? just saying.

I agree it. I keep learning MAX MSP and BEAP.

I found beap examples , there is ring modulation too.
