RME Fireface UC: no input

I am trying to use an RME Fireface UC interface with Max and am not able to get any audio input. I'm using a Macbook Pro, running 10.7.5 Lion, and running Max 6.1.3. I'm able to see input using the RME TotalMix app so I know the mic and interface are working fine. (The mic is plugged into the Mic 1 input on the interface and it comes in on the "Mic 1" channel in TotalMix.) Also, I'm able to select the RME for input and output in Max using the Core Audio driver (I've also tried ad_portaudio Core Audio) so I know Max recognizes the interface. However, when I turn on the DAC and connect some meter objects to adc~ I see no input at all. I've tried cranking up the gain and rerouting the i/o channel in Max's dsp status window, but to no avail. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi
I'm not at max at the moment but if you make a new object called [adstatus info] and look under the tabs in its helpfile you'll find ways to differentiate between logical (numbered) and actual inputs.

Thanks for the reply Brendan. Under the "driver options" tab of the helpfile for adstatus, I am able to select "Fireface UC Mac" and adstatus does report that there are 18 inputs for both Core Audio and ad_portaudio Core Audio. I then selected each and every possible input available using the umenu connected to "ad status input 1" (for both Core Audio and ad_portaudio Core Audio) and tested the input from a mic. Unfortunately, I still am not getting any input from adc~. Again, I can clearly see that there is an input signal in the TotalMix app so the interface seems to be working properly. My best guess is that there is some setting in TotalMix that is wrong, but I've tried everything that seems logical and no luck. I've attached a screen shot in case anyone that is familiar with this software notices anything. I suppose the next step is to contact RME support. If I find the solution I'll post it here.

Paul, check to see that you don't have "Loopback" selected in TotalMix. If selected, the Fireface inputs will only be sent to the hardware outputs and not to the software inputs

Thanks for the suggestion. I made sure loopback is disabled and unfortunately still no input. Also, I tried recording in Logic and had the same problem; I can select the device in the audio settings but no signal.

Just wanted to report that after a few exchanges with RME support I was finally able to solve the issue by resetting my PRAM (hold CMD+OPT+P+R until you hear the start-up chime 3 times, then let go).
