RNBO on Percussa SSP Eurorack module
Working on a new 'template' for RNBO that creates modules for Percussa SSP's virtual eurorak modular from RNBO patches.
here the rnbo demo patch is running using (internal) cv/gate from my cartesian sequencer.
I think RNBO is going to be really interesting for percussa users, since it'll allow non-developers to create new ssp module.
RNBO is a good platform for this dev, as the signal io of max, maps perfectly to the cv io I need for ssp modules. not only does this 'feel natural' for development, but means you can easily develop max 'test' patches to test the rnbo module before deployment to the SSP.
I did find a couple of issues...
e.g. CoreObject::getParameterIndexForID is not working for parameters in sub patches.
also, it doesn't look like you can get the 'comment' from the in~/out~ which is a pain, as it means I cannot name in/outputs nicely .. which Im using for CV inputs/outputs on the SSP.
but its early days for both RNBO, and also my template..
Ive a few things I want to investigate more within RNBO, and support more parameters types.
but so far pretty promising, as the performance does seem great and its feeling pretty stable.

Really cool concept! Do you have any video examples of rnbo patches on the percussa SSP?
Thanks, Eli
hmm, good point, no I released them , but never got around to shooting a video....
in terms of progress...
I released a 'template' that users were able to use to create their own rnbo plugins.
and I also create a couple of plugins using these.
a granular plugin, a looper and a pitch shifter (didn't work too well ;))
the 4 track looper is quite interesting, as I created a pretty nice UI that showed the waveform...rather than just display a set of parameters.
I do need to revisit this a bit, partly for a couple of reasons.
a) RNBO updates might mean there are a few more possibilities.
b) my 'SSP framework' has been extended quite a bit, so Id want to update to this newer framework.
however, Im in the middle of a new project at the moment, so this is on a bit of a back burner.
that said, the new project could make use of this... so perhaps ;)
but yeah... if I update, and integrate with new project, I should definitely make a video demonstrating, it is very cool... and a very fast way to build new plugins.
I wil say, the main 'downside' , is users are kind of required to buy rnbo (and potentially max), so the uptake is not really there... as this mixed with SSP ownership is pretty niche ;)
but still its great tech.
(I also do need to review whats being going on in the world of rnbo... as not looked at it for a while !)
